Travel to St. Helena
This beautiful island belongs to England, but at the same time, is extremely far from it. It used to be an English colony, and now an island kingdom state with partially limited control. The climate is significantly different from the British. St. Helena is located in the tropics and is exposed to the sea, so the island is warm enough, but fogs are just as common.
This island became famous thanks to Napoleon. He lived here in exile in the last days of his life. The tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte is one of the main attractions of the area, however, it is empty, because the remains have long been transported to France. Most likely, the burial place of Napoleon himself attracts so many tourists here. But besides Napoleon’s house and grave, there is something to see.
Not everyone knows where the island is. It is quite far from the entire continental world, namely in the Atlantic, between South America and Africa (it is not for nothing that Bonaparte was exiled to this island). Continue reading
Madeira – an island in the waters of the Atlantic
Madeira is an island in the archipelago of the same name, in the northern Atlantic, about 1000 km from Portugal, 400 km north of the Canary Islands. This is an island with its interesting history, traditions that have been observed for more than one century, internal structure and indescribable beauty of nature. The island has a diverse climate. Here you have the opportunity to take a walk in the subtropics for one day, wander around picking mushrooms along the pine forest, climb the mountains and find yourself in the tundra, swim in the crystal clear mountain lake and spend time on the ocean.
Madeira is a favorite vacation spot of Europeans. For centuries, island residents have been hosting tourists. Tourism is Madeira’s main income. The infrastructure here is not developed at the modern level. Continue reading
Resorts of Cambodia
Until the middle of the last century, Cambodia was a French colony. The legacy from those times was the resorts of the French elite and villas in the south of the country. Since then, Cambodia has changed its power several times, villas and mansions were destroyed by the Khmer Rouge, but natural sea resorts with a mild climate remained.
Bright representatives of such resorts are Sihanoukville and Kep. But in Sihanoukville there are always a lot of tourists and you can’t expect a relaxing holiday. For this, Kep is better suited. A small seaside town, more like a village. A large number of hotels does not create problems with accommodation.
